I know I am being noisy, so don't answer if you do not feel comfy- but I feel like my copayment for my surgery is really high. I would pay is 5x over (okay maybe not that much because I could not afford it lol) but I have to pay $3600 two weeks prior to the surgery. Still less than what I was willing to pay to go to Mexico buuut that seems really high to me, but perhaps that is because I am getting the "spider VSG" and maybe that costs a little more? I don't know, but was just curious at what yall paid.

You should be able to look at your insurance policy and know whether it is correct or not. It may be that something they are using is out of network, possibly anesthesia by chance?

Not quite sure, but others with same insurance, hosp, and doctor. They pain less than $1000.

I paid about $1900 to the hospital and $800 to my surgeon's office. That's because I had not met my deductable yet.

I know all insurances are different, but I'll bet that the spider is more expensive, since it is a newer procedure.

I paid roughly $1500 for mine. Including all the pre-op visits, etc.

Let us know how your surgery goes, and how big your incision(s) are!

I think variables like insurance coverage vs. self pay will make it hard to come up with any kind of useful information. Self insured? Group insurance? Work for a cheap-ass company that won't cover bariatric surgery at all? What is the annual deductible? How about annual out of pocket maximum? How much is the co-pay? Are you self pay? It's different for everyone.

I have Blue Cross Blue Sheild and it is a percentage. Ido nt remember the exact percentage, but I talked with insurance and hospital and as close as I could come up with was $3400. That is in Cincinnati OH. The hospital said they would bill me after insurance paid.
