I think I'd rather do a scoop and a half of protien powder rather than mix milk... more protien, less calories... I was doing that at first, but as I've added food my calories went up, and I didn't like that :-)
I only mix it with milk if I need the calories, or know it's going to be longer than normal before I eat again... luckily I don't have a problem with lactose :-)

I had my surgery the same day, am averaging the same amount of protein and calories -- basically, we're twinsies. Saw my NUT last week and she said I was right on target for being so early out, though I do notice that the days I go closer to 60g protein I do feel a little more energetic. I would say don't particularly worry about adding more protein, but it can't hurt, right?
