Tummy problems - day 2 pre-op diet

So my stomach isn't sore but is girgling and I have loose stools. Could this be the protein?? Not exactly easy to deal with when you have to work and go through this for at least 12 more days and the 2 weeks post op. Suggestions?

It may be the brand you're using - - I had to go through about 6 to find one that I liked, agreed with me, and had substantial protein content. Good Luck!! You can do it!!!

Hi Newday!

I had my post op appt on Monday, and I advised my doctor that I was having the same problem.  She referred to to buy to Yakult.  It is a liquid yogurt probiotic.  She said that having girgling and loose stools is completely normal when your body is trying to recover.  I bought the Yukult at WalMart today (5 pack for $3.00).

Hope you start feeling better!!  I know I am.

 It's quite possible it is your brand of protein. Does it contain lactose? I'm on day 3 of my 2 week liquid diet Our NUT has us use MediTrim. We are allowed 3 shakes or 2 shakes and a meal replacement bar daily. We are also allowed to have calorie free beverages and 2 cups of specific vegetables. My first day was the worst. I had a terribly upset stomach and a bad headache. Day 3 I am tired and weak, still nauseous with a headache. I'm not really hungry but I'm craving carbs. A few years ago I did the master cleanse diet and felt the same way for a few years. Our bodies will detox and go through withdrawal of having the foods we are used to taken away . I hope you find a way to feel better for the remainder of your pre-op and good luck on your surgery.
