supplements..
so the surgeons office provided me with a bunch of chewable vitamins (building blocks) but he also gave me a script for potassium, and these suckers a huge...I mean HORSE PILLS. They are gel capsules and say not to be opened...so, here is my thing. How will I EVER get these down my new little sleeve? Looking at them is a scary thought....
I never had issues swallowing pills. However, I wasn't allowed to swallow anything bigger than a M&M for the first 2-3 weeks, and could not take anything that extended release for 6 weeks post-op.
But, after that limitation was lifted, I had zero issues swallowing pills.
Can you see if it comes in liquid form???

crap my propanalol is ER, I wonder if I should see about getting that changed prior to surgery??
Yep, I have a few friends that were on Effexor and Wellbutrin XR and they all had to switch to the non-XR dosing. I know your meds are anti-depressants/anxiety meds, but those were the 2 I remember specifically having to change.

Don't get potassium in the liquid form..its horrible.
I HAVE to take potassium for a kidney problem. My surgeon recommends (for months) NOT to swallow anything larger than the head of Lincoln on a penny. SO.. you get a pill cutter. At first I had to cut the potassium in two..then in two again. Now I can swallow cutting it in half. It works as its soft and crushes easily.
I used to take it in baby food (which was a bit dense in the beginning) but I could still taste it. Cutting it up worked better.
Good luck~ Jan
