Ross, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx are probably your best bets.  Also maybe Old Navy or Target - just depends on what you are looking for.

I agree on the scary/daunting part - I have to do Macy's in little pieces otherwise I get overwhelmed and just have to leave.

Congratulations on everything.

I am LOVING Ross right now... you can always find dresses for $15-$20 in my area.... which is amazing considering they START around $30 at Target, Old Navy, etc.

Marshall's, T J Maxx, Ross.  I stopped at a Kmart the other day for pool supplies and saw they had their fall line in and I was impressed!  I go into a Kmart about twice a year usually for something I am just hoping they have that I need.  The fall line was very tasteful, beautiful fall colors and the prices are pretty good.  It was called the Jacline Smith line I think.  My understanding is that its a Sears store now.  Anyway I don't mind shopping at Kmart, Walmart etc considering I will only wear these clothes for a month or so.
