I second the Isopure Zero Carb - I also liked the Grape Frost and the Alpine Punch.  The other flavors were pretty 'meh' for me.

I didn't want to burn out on them, so I also did some research and discovered Cytomax - - I like the Tangerine and the Tropical Punch there, too.  However, it is a bit sweet - so I dilute it with water. (Added bonus!  You are getting more fluids in!!)

I get mine at Vitamin Shoppes.

A few suggestions to help with the Isopure:
1.  Drink very very cold (even adding ice cubes if you can tolerate)
2.  In my opinion it does have a strong whey taste - best to take 1/2 bottle of Isopure and mix it with a similiar/complimentary flavor of crystal light (or other sugar free clear drink).  The crystal light really helped mask the smell & flavor for me.
3.  Go slow - if the 1/2 & 1/2 recipe above doesn't work then try 1/3 Isopure & 2/3 crystal light, etc.  The good news is one ready-to-drink bottle of Isopure has 40gms of protein so by drinking the Isopure/Crystal Light combo you are getting protein and fluids!

Best of luck

I know how important protein is, honestly, I do. BUT(you knew there would be a but), after so much stress and difficulty with protein drinks (and then figuring out that it was lactose intolerance contributing to my issues), my surgeon was more concerned with calorie consumption and hydration levels. I'm not advocating skipping the protein, I know the importance of it, BUT staying hydrated, not being in pain, not puking bigger priorities for my recovery. It took me a solid 6 weeks to get in protein and it only happened once I got to mushies/purees/soft foods. Then, it was easy peasy to manage.

I personally hated the unjury proteins, and the only nectar I could tolerate was the Caribean cooler and the cappucino, and they still made me puke because of the whey protein intolerance.

I hope you find one that will work for you. But, make sure you are staying hydrated, and resting when your body tells you to rest.

Hang in there girly, it gets better ! ! !

I'm in the same boat, but have just been focusing on liquids. All of the suggestions/advice here are amazing!

I was able to get almost half a can or "pure protein" in yesterday. Once it got warm I put it in the fridge and forgot about it. I have UNJURY too but it's too thick yet and makes me nauseous.

Thanks Jo for the suggestion with Nectar. I just called them and ordered that sample pack! Can't wait to try the iced tea. :)

I am so glad you posted this. I am having a hard time with the protein drinks also. I've been told to suck it up and just drink it. But, what good will that do if it just comes back up. You have had some good responses. I just called the number Jo  gave and ordered the sample packs. Thanks for posting and thanks everyone for responding. Love this site.
