I HAD MY PRE-OPERATIVE CLASS TWO DAYS AGO. THERE WAS SO MUCH INFORMATION TO TAKE IN. INSIDE ONE OF THE BOOKLETS WAS AN ID CARD  AND ALSO ASKING YOU TO CONSIDER BUYING YOURSELF  A "Medic Alert " BRACELET OR NECKLACE,WHICH INDICATES TO OTHERS THAT YOU HAVE HAD BARIATRIC SURGERY.  I WANT TO KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU CARRY THIS WITH YOU.

It was never even offered to me as an option.  I would not if it had been, as my surgery has been a secret.  I would say it is whatever you are comfortable with.

I carry the card in my wallet that my surgeon gave me, it is a med alert card but also a small meal card to  give to restaurants. I also have a necklace that I only wear when I ride long distance on my motorcycle, so not very often.

I don't have one, I would consider wearing a bracelet if they had a pretty one.

They do make very pretty ones now-a-days!  I have a very pretty one that I never take off.  I got it from Laurenshope.com  I paid a good bit for mine, but I wanted it to be something that I could wear with anything.

People go back and forth about if a medical bracelet is necessary.  I really don't know the answer to that, but I am still relatively young, with young kids, and don't see how it could HURT to have one, right??

Mine says, " partial gastrectomy.  No blind NG tube."  And then an emergency contact number.
I would post a picture, if I knew how...

I'm just curious as to why it would be so important to have a medic alert bracelet? I mean after having VSG is there potential life threatening dangerous situations to where someone in the medical field not knowing your history could cause your death by not knowing? (I'm sure I could have worded that better but hopefully you get what I mean lol)
