I'm gonna be a speaker... HELP!

At the seminar my Dr gave for WLS he was very open about the different negatives regarding WLS.  He talked about smelly pooh with the DS, clingy "gas" with the BP, leaks with the VSG,  slow weight loss with the LB and Hairloss with them all.  He wanted to us to know every negative aspect including death.  He went into patient histories, experiences and why people failed or died after surgeries.  He really wanted us to know what we were getting ourselves into.  He had a person who had each type of surgery there to tell about their experiences and for a q and a period.  There was one person there for each surgery and each age group (young to elderly) so the audience could ask them about their experiences.  Each had a picture of themselves as a pre op to pass around the auditorium. 
I would say give them the whole picture, don't sugar coat it and dont make it sound easier than it was or is and don't make it worse than it was.  Tell it like you lived it!
