Besides the basics what do i need to bring to the Hosp. Is it worth it to bring reading material? an Ipad? an Ipod? or will i just wanna lay there and sleep?

Is there something i should ask for that you didnt know when you had your surgery??

Any info at this point would be awsome as i'm haveing a little anxiety

Bring a laptop or an ipad, especially if you'll be there a few nights. You'll want to just sleep for the first 24 hours, but after that, you're probably going to want something to do.

I read all the recommended items before hand and in the end, all I needed was a laptop and my cell phone. Everything else wasn't used. The hospital provided everything I needed outside of those. Of course I was fortunate to feel good enough to be sitting up and moving around after about the 6-12 hour range as the medicine wore off.

well I was only in for a day, and i can tell you...on that day all I wanted to do was lay and sleep and walk when they forced me out of the bed. Usually its hard for me to sleep, but there I just drifted in and out all day long.

Chapstick, slippers, cell phone & charger shampoo samples for your first shower.  Loose pants for the trip home.  Ipad or laptop.  I was foggy from the anesthesia so I wasn't interested in reading, but some people do better with that than I did.  Good luck!

Chapstick!!!
I could not have survived without it.
That was the single most important thing to me.
LOL!
Sounds crazy. Someone said that on a post before I had surgery and it turned out to be true for me.

Its just that your mouth is so dry after surgery and then you aren't allowed to take anything in until whenever your surgeon does the swallowing test which for me was a full day.  So I had a full day of completely dry mouth.
Small pillow....I didn't bring any of my own stuff in, but I did ask the nurses for extra pillows and stuff like that.  They didn't mind my request for that stuff.
Good luck!!!
Let us know how you do.

I would have appreciated a pillow for the ride home.  I felt every bump on the road and it was horrible.
