Just would like to know
I describe it to my daughter as the difference between being hungry and having the munchies.
When your stomach isn't hungry but you want to eat because you have cravings or you're stressed and bored and you always eat in those situations, that's head hunger. If you walk past a plate of cookies and your mouth starts to water, that's head hunger.

Good replies. it is also when you think about eating and the *only* thing you think would be good is a cookie or pizza or etc. if you really need to eat, protein will suit you just fine or something else on your plan.
It is also when we sit around and think of things that would be *good* when it isn't time to eat.

I still have real hunger too, so that makes determining head hunger easy for me :)
If I want to eat, but I don't feel hungry (rumbly tummy), nor have any symptoms of needing to eat (shakiness, light headed), then it's head hunger :)
