This - I am right there with you:
I am not a binge eater, I do not find massive joy in food, I do not sit around dreaming of my next meal.... nor did I before the VSG. I didn't rely on food for friendship or emotional support.
I agree that going through the VSG experience has taught me to self regulate. My issue was never an obsession with food and/or overeating. One of the things I found interesting in the support group meetings I attended - it seemed to be a general assumption by the other meeting goers that 'we're all addicted to food or we wouldn't be here' but I NEVER felt like that. I
