Are you sure there are no internal stitch(es)?  I had a couple of internal stitches that were absorable.  That was really the biggest cause of my discomfort.

In regards to your headaches - are you getting in 64oz of water?  If not it could be dehydration related.  If you are struggling with fluids try various temperatures of water/tea/crystal light.  I found for the first month post op I tolerated room temperature and warmer liquids best.

Oh I am pretty sure there must be some internal stitches somewhere so than once they absorbed the pain went away? I try to ge****er in but 64oz hmm I don't think I am getting that much water in but I am drinking liquids all day while I am up between water, SF Koolaid, apple juice, SF popsicles, and jello that's all I have been having lately. how do you know how much liquids you are drinking if you are sipping all day? Is there a certain way we should try to measure this?

Thanks again for answering

My discomfort definitely went away once the internal stitches were absorbed/healed.

As for liquids - I used water bottles where I could tell how much each bottle held.  In this case I drink water from a 24oz water bottle and I drink my crystal light from a 20oz vitamin water bottle (I find the standard 16oz of crystal light too sweet for me).  My tea cup holds 16oz.  I am very picky so I have containers that are liquid specific - water only, crystal light only, etc.  I stayed away from juices for the most part (was never really a fan - always too sweet for me).  So my recommendation is that you measure out your fluids and if you have to sip all day either pour into a second container so you can track your intake or drink directly from your water bottles.

Just a thought.

Best of luck!

I had terrible headaches the first ten days.  Part of the problem for me was that I didn't go off my coffee routine at all pre-op, so there was certainly caffeine withdrawal going on.  I don't think that was the whole story though.  When it got really bad, I took some of my kid's liquid Tylenol and that did help to a degree.  It was awful at the time, but has gone away and not come back to bother me since.  Hang in there!

I can honestly say that it isn't a coffee issue with me I don't drink coffee so I am thinking it is what others had posted that I must be dehydrating and I am trying to drink alot a whole lot of liquids today hoping it will go away. I am not having any fun and this is not feeling very good for me right now

thank you for answering

Raquel, yes I had awful headaches the migraine kind. My doc recommended taking adult liquid Tylenol, I used it and it helped but was really nauseated. Not sure if it was the headaches or Tylenol that made me nauseated. They will go away! Keep hydrated! I am 2 weeks out this monday and I feel fantastic. Day 6 after surgery was my turning point and each day has gotten better. When I do too much my body tells me and I need a little rest, other than that I am GREAT!

Question:

Are you drinking enough water?????  Honestly.

Please drink your water, I think your dehydrated and things could get worse.
you literally have to drink 2 oz every 15 minutes.  Are you doing this?

Get a timer and start doing this and your headaches will go away.
