pre-op question??

How many had to do a laxative before surgery??

I was told not to, but others have used my asame Dr. and they were told to do one.
I don't want to get there and they won't do my surgery because I didn't do one.
Going to Mexico..

Nope, no liquid diet, and no cleanse per my doc as they aren't going anyplace near your intestines. I just needed to be NPO from 10pm on the night before surgery. Ask your surgeon to be sure.. but if you were told not to by them.. you should be fine! Good luck on your surgery!

My doc had the same reaction when I asked about it - not gonna be operating on your intestines and you won't be under long enough to worry about it.  So no bowel cleanse or catheter.

I had to and I had a cath during surgery. Every Doc is different I guess!

I would double check with your surgeon's nurse to be sure, because I had a 10-day liquid diet but no laxative cleanse. I think not only is every surgeon different, but each patient is different. He decided I didn't need to, but he said a lot of people do. Good luck!

I have to dothe pre-op diet just no laxative.
they said the same thing not working on that area.

No laxative here and no catheter either. I had my 2 week preop diet which was mostly liquid and 1 small meal per day. I ate my last meal at lunch the day before and liquids for dinner. That was good enough.

I didn't have any sort of laxative either. And my pre-op diet was just one day of clear liquids.
