Not progressing to pureed foods

I found refried beans to be very heavy when I progressed. Also, I could tell I was really swollen inside.  There are softer things you can eat. My doctor put me on soft foods not pureed  although I did chop my meats really fine. Tender baked chicken  baked in butter buds(non fat flavoring) chopped really fine in chicken broth would be soothing to you but you have to remember to take your time. Some things you won't tolerate.  Don't give up.  Try something else on your list.

I would definitely wait until later for chicken.  White meat chicken is still a no go for me almost 9 months out.  Dark meat works fine but I didn't try it at all until 5 or 6 weeks out.  As others mentioned, you should add new foods one at a time.  With all you had mixed up it is hard to know which foods will agree with you and which won't.  Sometimes food that mess you up early work fine later down the road.  And sometimes food that you handle really well the first few times may sneak up and mess with you another time you eat it.  It is very much a trial and error process for the first few months.  Good luck!

I didn't actually do puree foods, I went from liquids to soft food at 3 weeks. But the first thing I tried was mashed potatos thinned with brown gravy. Its not protein and I don't eat it much, but it is a good thing to get your new tummy used to food. Also, I did 3 oz fat free refried beans with a slice of 2% cheese. Once you warm it and mix it up, it gets pretty thin. I couldn't eat it all at first but sometimes I can now. I am allowed ground beef or turkey but I'm not even thinking about trying chicken til I'm atleast 6 weeks out. Its pretty dense protein. Hope that helps give you some ideas.

Good Luck

My doctor's plan calls for 2 weels of liquids followed by 2 weeks of pureed foods.  I extended the liquid stage to 3 weeks.

If you're not ready for pureed foods stay with liquids a little longer.

You'll find you don't have a lot of capacity with pureed foods. Don't make a ton of food, it will go bad before you can fini****

Good luck,
George
