Its not exactly a stall, but I have only lost like 4lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. I realize this is not terrible but I am only 5 weeks out, so I was wondering if yall could take a look at my normal diet and tell me what I am doing wrong.....

breakfast: usually like a sausage patty or something ****asionally 1/2 an egg with cheese mixed in)
lunch: sometimes lunchmeat and cheese or chilli with no beans (never more than 2oz-usually under)
snack: 1/2 of a premier protein bar or like 1oz of beef jerky
dinner: many many nights its grilled shrimp or a crab cake. Last night it was chilli.
snack: usually like a mini baby bell cheese or something and occasionally olives (I know- no nutritional value at all-it is my indulgence)

I try to go on a 40minute walk about three times a week. I know I need to up the exercise. I am seriously considering joing curves.......

so have at it, the good the bad and the ugly. I eat NO beans, no starches..... and my carbs are always under 40 a day.

Well, it seems like you are making good choices, sticking to protein, all of that.  The only things that come to mind are sodium and fluids.  Are you getting in lots of fluids?  Also, some of the things you list can carry a lot of salt.  Sausage, lunchmeat, cheese, chili, jerky, etc.  Seems like the effect from that should be short term and not last 2.5 weeks, but may still be worth trying to keep the salt content down.

Hang in there.  Slow weight loss can happen, even early.  Stay on plan and the weight will come off!

Hey Paige!! It's you and me girl!!!I was told I am not eating enough.  I broke my stall and lost 4lbs in 5 days. (haven't weighed again) I don't know if this will continue. Hopefully my body has adjusted.  I started 45mins on the treadmill because I almost fell out walking outside a couple of weeks ago.  I don't know if my blood sugar was too low(no diabetes) or if I was dehydrated!  Your eating seems fine.  I re-evaluated mine too.  I started eating slower and more protein.  I had to add that nasty protein drink first thing in the morning to up my calories. Yuck!!!!
It gives me 40g first. My taste buds changed and I just hold my breath and swallow.

You still look great.  We have just got to hang on!  My husband thinks I look much smaller but in actuality, it is not showing on the scale.  Dont forget to measure.
I like calling North Carolina home!!!  Go Tarheels!

yea, I have not measured... but I have no doubt that my inches have went down. Jeans that were too tight just a week ago are now almost baggy...so I guess I should feel reassured at that.

Hi Paige. We are pretty close in what we have lost so far, you have me beat by a few lbs!! Have you had a stall yet? I had one after one week and it lasted two weeks, where I did not lose anything. Then I started losing again, 3 lbs one week, 9 the next, 5 this past week. So I think it is probably just an adjustment, and from what my NUT said to me at my six week visit, we can;t expect to lose big every week, and stals or slow downs will happen. He just advised keeping with the program, excercise, and making sure I get my fluids in, which can be hard.

I think you are doing great!

yes, I stalled for about a week at two weeks..then lost like two, then nothing for about a week...then two....lol. I really just need to start weighing myself once a week.

It looks like you're doing pretty well. Sometimes the loss just does that. I've had three actual stalls - no loss for 3 weeks or so. Stalled without changing anything, started again without changing anything.

If you're within your calories, carbs AND liquids every day, and are exercising pretty regularly (my weakest area personally) then you will pick up speed again.

Stalls are a good time to check yourself, but my first time I made myself nuts. Don't do that. The loss WILL pick up again.

Good luck!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

thanks, my biggest struggle is that I am still not hitting my protein goals. The most I have gotten in one day is 53grams. =/ I just cannot stomach the drinks so I struggle to get it in eating. My calories are almost always right around 700, unless I have a bad day and then I can barely squeek in 600.

What protein drinks have you tried? I only have two I can stomach - the GNC chocolate lean shake and Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey from Walmart - that's a powder and I add some Hershey's Dark Chocolate Cocoa to it, about a teaspoon.

I also like PowerPak protein pudding. A little high in calories, but 1/2 a can has 15 grams of protein.

Getting your protein in is huge. I encourage you to look at what you're eating and switch to almost entirely protein foods. You should be able to get in your protein eating if you can eat 700 calories (I can't, even at 6 months, so I still drink shakes).
