Good afternoon,How is everyone doing? It's been a month since my last post. Now that i have to do my whole six months over I've been doing other things to occupy my time....Well i got my results from my upper gi and it came back positive for H.Pylori so now i have to be on antibiotics....I was suppose to been get them but there for some reason ride aid never got my prescription so i had to call the dr office again,So i finally have my prescription and i have to pick them up on Friday.Anyone on the board been positive for this bacteria??? everyone is telling that it can cause a yeast infection..So i was told to start eating yogurt and drink plenty cranberry juice before i start taking the meds to help with preventing getting one.Anyway i hope that everyone is doing well congrats to everyone that had there surgery,I will be on the loser bench in another six month,I'm counting down days.

I was just thinking about you last night, i knew i haven't seen any post from you since the last one. My girlfriend was positive for h. pylori, she had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks and then she had her surgery. She's not apart of OH, but she has lost 39 pounds since September 28. She didnt have any reaction to the antibiotics but i have seen a few people on here say they havd negative reactions. keep in touch!!!

H. Pylori is the bacteria responsible for causing most ulcers.  It's very common, and it comes primarily from contaminated water sources.  I was treated for it 10 years ago, and I tested positive, again, pre-op.  I a PREVPAC which is a 2 week course of prevacid and 3 antibiotics to knock it out.

Can you still have the surgery with pylori? Do they check all this on your pre op? I will be having my surgery in Mexico. Thanks and good luck
