Hello all, I go see the surgeon on tomorrow and they are going to send it to my insurance on Monday.  I am so nervous and hopes everything goes through. I have United Healthcare does any know how long the process of getting an approval takes?

I think that the insurance approval often has to do not just with UHC rules, but often times the rules of the particular company that the insured works for.

I am UHC, and in my case, I had all my preop testing done, everything got packaged up and sent in, and I was approved a day or 2 later. It was a non-issue for me, and I certainly feel fortunate that was the case.

hello, my appt. is with my surgeon today and will be send to insurance Monday as well.  I have Health Partners so it will be interesting to see how long it takes.  My surgeons office thinks I will have an answer by the end of next week...hope so!!  Good Luck to you!

 I have United Health and it took less than a week! The surgeons office called to set a date and say I was approved before the insurance told me! :) 

 Wow, it seems like it doesn't take long at all. I will keep you guys posted. 😄
