Candy Pushers

I have told my coworkers about my surgery and the changes to my eating habits. There is a guy at work who has been systematically "pushing" candy on me. Every day for the last two weeks he places Twizzlers on my desk. I give them back to him. I go to a meeting and come back and there they are.  He insist that "I look like I needed them".  WTF??

I have been polite, in my refusals.  Today, however he will get cursed out.

How do you handle, well meaning people, who do not listen when you say "NO"????

Fay

I was laughing out loud, until I say you "do not smile".  Thanks, I will give it a shot.

How about..."If I wanted twizzlers, I would buy them and when I want your opinion about what I may or may not need, I'll ask for it - until then, bug off..."

I'm sure I would use more expletives if it was me, but this may be a more tactful way to go, although this man obviously has no tact...good luck and stick to your guns on this.

I am trying.  Twizzlers was a food group for me prior to surgery.  This week being Halloween, only heightens my challenges. I will hang tough and carry a big bottle of water EVERYWHERE!

Personally if it was me.....If he happened to put the candy before me and was standing there.....I would probably push them off my desk and into a trash can where he could see it.   I bet he would stop giving you the candy when he realizes that he was throwing his money away on candy for you when you have no intentions of eating it.    He is wanting to get a "rise" out of you and he is getting what he wants if you continue to tell him you don't want it.    I wouldn't say anything to him.   Sounds to me like he WANTS a confrontation from you and if you give him one.....He will probably never stop.   Just my opinion.    Good luck.

The trash can is a great suggestion.  Plus actions do speak louder than words!

Thanks

Give the candy to another co worker :) Or leave them in the break room with a note that says free candy!

There is sooo much candy around here, but i can always find a new home for the candy.  I guess I just dont want ot spend too much time with the twizzlers, for fear of eating them.

I would empty the bag out on the floor next to his desk.
