hhhhheey September Sleevers!!
All is well here!
I eat about 2oz at a time, mostly only proteins but do have a protein bar or something sweet every now and then. My carbs are almost always under 40, calories stay around 700...still getting plently of fluids.
The one thing I am struggling with is ciggerette cravings. I am a former smoker (quit over a year ago) and it seems like I am trying to pass one addiction (food) to another........which I know is common, but unhealthy. I NEED to find a healthy addiction instead......any suggestions? lol and please not exercise. I do do a LITTLE exercise, but it is not a fun thing to me! lol......
You are doing awsome.
I eat 1.5-2 oz of protein. Carbs and calories are about the same as yours.I do aqua aerobics 3-4 times a week plus 40 min of swimming. But I'm a veeeeery sloooo loser.
1st month-15 lbs, 2nd month-9 lbs.
I quit smoking over a year ago as well and I hope I'll never go back to it. I'm terrified of the thought of it.
Alla.
Glad to see you're doing well, but it stinks that your cigarrette cravings are back. I am doing very well myself. Since surgery, I've lost 47 lbs! Very hard to believe! I am eating 2 ozs of dense protein at a time and am having fun experimenting with new recipes and cooking methods. I keep my calories at 600, carbs below 30, and fat below 30.
I've been exercising 4-5 times a week with water aerobics or stationary bike. I will say I dreaded it at first, but really miss it now when I can't get to the gym. Like everything else, I just consider it part of my new life!
Former smoker, too. I used hypno-therapy to get through the cravings. I didn't want to do the whole drug/patch thing because I'd done it a few times before and it didn't work long term for me. (Okay, honestly I never made it more than 2 days using that method!) The last time I quit just with the one hypno therapy session and went back a week later for a follow up and that was that. I never smoked again. I was a pack a day guy, too. You might look into that option to get you over the hump of the cravings.
You are probably right about the transfer addiction thing -it's fairly common. You can ask the hypno therapist to suggest that you won't crave unhealthy foods, cigs, etc.... I know it sounds like hoodoo, but I swear it does work. Well, at least it did for me when traditional methods just didn't seem to.
I, too, am eating about 2 oz. of dense protein for meals, with my protein, calories and fat about what each of you do. I am still doing at least one protein drink a day, sometimes two. Mostly because they are convenient, but also because it seems to keep me steadily losing weight. Haven't really gotten too engrossed in exercising yet, but it's coming along. I just bought a new bike last week to help encourage me to get out more and get sweating! I'm down 52 lbs. since surgery and couldn't be happier.
Good luck with the cigarette cravings - so glad I never took up that habit.
Just checking in as well. Most days I have to remind myself to eat. I'm just never really hungry. I am so amazed at this transformation in such a short time. I feel great!
I also eat about 2 oz at any given time. Except slider foods which go down much easier, and I can take more in, so I try to be careful with those.
Knock on wood...never had that 3 week stall I kept reading about. As a matter of fact, if I stalled now, it would be ok. I wouldn't freak out as much.
The bottom half is the hardest part for me to lose. MY THIGHS!! I have def lost from top to bottom. My fat cheeks are gone.
As for your smoking addiction....do you like to knit or crochet? Accupunture may work as well.
Thanks for checking in. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The scale has been stalled for a week -- forces are obviously conspiring against me getting the Tarte Lip Gloss set that is on sale this week at Ulta for my 50 pound reward!
I eat about 4 oz at a time, but I do my best to stick to healthy proteins, fruits and veggies and rarely indulge in any junk. My plan just gave me the go-ahead to try a little bit of whole-grain bread and carbs, but I don't like the way they sit in my sleeve, so they'll be a rare thing.
I'm exercising 4 times a week. I do yoga, cardio and circuit training at the gym, and a kettle bell workout at home. I'm trying to start the C25K with TripMom, but I need to get an armband for my phone, some running shoes and a knee brace before I really get going. (More for my Santa wish list.)
As for the smoking -- I quit almost 7 years ago and still want a cigarette sometimes. Just don't go there, whatever you do!
So far so good for me. Surgery was 9/20, and I am feeling really great energy wise (even with 4 boys under the age of 10, and a husband). lol.
I'm able to eat 2-3 oz at a time, mostly chicken, shrimp, crab, and tuna. I haven't tried beef yet. I don't have much luck getting to veges and fruit. I'm still having a problem with forgetting to eat, so I'm working on that. I am better at getting my protein in, but still need a shake (down to 1 scoop) by the end of the day.
I have been working out with a trainer twice a week for the the past few weeks, and plan to add two days on the weekend. I'm thinking either swimming or zumba on those days. I'm a little shy to try zumba because I can't dance. I have recruited two friends to go with me the first time.
I'm a night shift nurse, and returned to work about 3 weeks ago. No issues. I usually have a greek yogurt and water during my 8 hour shift.
Weight loss for me since surgery is 27 lbs for a total of 47. I started at 249 and I'm down to 202 this morning. My dr. said i it's not uncommon to lose slower if the starting weight isn't that high, and that it is better. I wish I could convince myselft of that when the scale bounces back and forth.
I told my fellow nightshift crew about my surgery, but the other shifts have noticed, and are asking about my weight loss. I'm not ashamed, but don't really want to go into details with everyone who asks.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving
