Checking in! I've lost 58 lbs (52 lbs since surgery), and am thrilled! I'm losing 3-4 lbs a week.

I have not been excercising because of chronic back pain; I've got a disc that's mostly gone. I'm having surgery for that in two weeks. I hope to be able to start excercising after recovering from that surgery.

I can eat only 1-2 oz of dense protein at a time, except for eggs. For some reason, I still cannot eat a whole egg.

I do have at least one protein shake daily and plan to all my life. I've never been one to eat breakfast (the thought of food is just a turn-off until I've been awake several hours) so I have a protein shake instead. Since I'm supposed to get 80-100 grams of protein a day, but can eat only 1-2 oz (7-14 grams of protein) of meat at a time I can't possibly get all my protein from food, so I usually have another shake in the evening.

I sure do feel great! I'm enjoying all the energy I now have, and all the stuff I'm getting done because of it.

It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not.

Hello! Good to hear from you. I hardly ever post anymore. Just lurke alot. I am with you...eat about 1.5-2 oz if lucky of protein. I can't drink the shakes. They taste horrible. The only one I can do is the unflavored so I will mix it in a fruit and spinich smoothie. I've lost 36lbs since surgery and feel great. Went dress shopping for a Christmas party dress and was surprized. I had no idea what to try on so picked 20 (was 22 before surgery). It was too large, I was able to fit in 16/18. Couldn't believe it! It's been years. Good luck with the smoking. One thing I've never tried.
