Hi All :-)

I am almost 5 months out and I am having a HARD time staying under 800 a day... part is emotional I'm sure, but here it goes... this is what I ate today, pretty typical....

View more of my photos at ObesityHelp.com

I know I could have/should have cut out the candy, and dinner was a bit high, but I still have more room/urge/desire to eat... and good stuff, I could totally munch on some grilled chicken, or cheese crisps or something later, but I will fight it :-)

Any suggestions???  I can take it!  (and the food is not in the order that I ate it, just for the record lol)

I'm certainly not a veteran....I'm not as far out from my surgery as you, but I think that overall you had a good day....and if you hadn't ate the candy, you would have been under 800.  If you need to snack tonight...keep it dense protein.

For me, as a health care provider....I find that I have to hover at 800-900 calories,....OR MY BRAIN GETS FOGGY!   I can't have a foggy brain and be taking care of pregnant ladies and their unborn, so I keep my calories a little higher and I am still losing.  I'm not saying it's OK to go over your calories that have been suggested by your doc, but an occasional day a little over 800 is not going to break the bank or stall your loss.  Maybe allow yourself to go over 1 day a week or every other week.  Sometimes knowing you can splurge every now and then helps you keep it under control the rest of the time.

I don't see much wrong with your diet today.  If you are struggling emotionally and doing the emotional eating thing....(I know all about this...lol), then maybe consider getting some counseling that can help you sort out why you emotionally eat.  This is a big change but the surgery isn't the quick fix.  We all still have to deal with our demons that brought us to the point of surgery in the first place.

Sorry I'm not much help here on giving answers.  I will be watching for others to chime in here.  I'm sure you are not the only one struggling with this.

I'd cut out the sunflower seeds - mostly calories. Not much bang for your buck with protein and carbs.

Edited to say: I'm not sure why you are worried about it.Your protein and carbs are both good. If you're not losing weight then yes - cut out some calories. But, if you are losing, I wouldn't worry so much.

On an emotional eating day I can get 1500-2000 calories no problem... I even ate a BLT sandwhich once, no problem, just skipped the crust... I can eat cake, cookies and chips.... it is a constant battel for me, but MUCH easier with my sleeve :-)

I have gotten some help with it... but I still feel it just tumbles down to will power.... thinking I may consider checking out someone else with more of a focus on eating issues in the new year... but I am happy with my progress, emotional eating induced stalls and all...

Get rid of the candy. If you're keeping your calorie count that low you don't really have room for treats, at least on days when your dinner is so heavy.

Or just allow yourself more calories. 800 is really low, especially if you're doing any exercise.

Congrats on all your success! I would cut out tat publix and processed pin wheel! For 260 calories, tuna salad or a small mxed green salad with una or chicken on top would serve you better, IMHO. Best of luck, you're a great inspiration to us all!

You don't have your protein counts in there.

But all in all....looks like a good day.

I'd opt out of the high calorie taco meat and pic two different things so you could have one during the day and one when the "munchie monster" gets you in the evening.
I.E. cook a spicy beef filet and cut up into bite size pieces and chill. weigh and snack

Hint...relax.....you're doing great!
