I had surgery on 11/7 and as of today I am down a total of 32 lbs, 8 pre-op and 24 post-op.  I just started on solid foods last week and am so thankful to have real food!!!  I even tried chicken yesterday and didn't have any issues.  I think I'm going to try filet mignon next :)  I still have one protein shake a day or I could never get my protein in, water is difficult but I manage by also drinking Propel Zero and Gatorade G2.  My 1-month post-op visit was last week and I was cleared for working out so I've done 45 minutes interval inclines on the treadmill every day so far...we'll see if I can keep that up :)  Glad to hear that the rest of you are doing well.  Take care.

Had my surgery 11/17 lost 15 lbs since surgery 33 lbs total since I started my journey!!!!!! Still on mushies, can only eat about 1/4 cup. I don't go back to Do****il Jan. Protein has been hard, really not liking any of the drinks I used to like. I can muster up some but not everything I need. Worked up to 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week but had to cut back to 2 times a week per doctors orders he thought I was losing too fast. I did get to start weight training!!!!!! Can't wait to go back to Zumba but it will come. Feeling good overall!!!!!

Surgery on 11/21. Have lost 27 since surgery, 48 overall.

I am on mushies still ****il Jan 16th when I can go to soft food). Not sure how much I can eat (I am sure I could eat more than I am), but am sticking to around 3oz per meal. Getting in 3 meals a day and one protein shake.

Havent started working out though. First couple weeks were good post op except I had the drain and stapeles still in. When they finally took drain out I was gonna wait until I was 2 full weeks out to start exercising. That is when the **** hit the fan.

I started getting pain in lower left part of tummy (near belly button), dr. did upper gi and catscan. Showed ok, determined pain was from a stitch and would calm down. The pain wasnt too bad... yet.
Then this past sunday hit. Pain through the roof. I am fine if I am reclined or standing. But the minute I try to sit somewhat upright (even toilet). I have burning stabbing pain that is the worst ever in my life. It is same area.

Today I called surgeon, he said he was sure it was stitch etc. but to come in if I felt I needed to. I was there within 20 minutes. When he walked in room he said "oh my god, you look awful". When he started poking around and heard me scream and burst into tears. I went and had an ultrasound.

Now I am waiting for ultrasound results and a game plan from surgeon. He said that I am probably one of those rare cases that needs to take advil or something for the anti inflammatory purposes (my demerol doesnt even touch this pain). Hoping he calls soon...I am still in agony.

well first great job on the weight loss and the ability to stay on mushies until Jan 16th!! That is a very long time! What great motivation and dedicationt that takes!! Second I hope you are feeling much better. I'm sorry to hear about your pain and sorry that you have to wait to find out the cause! The drain was terrible for me!! As soon as it was removed I felt instant relief!! IT was terrible having it removed also!! How did your results turn out?! Is your pain gone? Please keep us updated!!

I look forward to hearing from you at next weeks post!
Feel better soon

Hey Shana, and all my November sleevers.  Ive been kind of down since surgery, but Im slowly working to get out of this phase.  I had to go to the hospital today for dehydration because fluids and food have been an issue for me.  I cannot stand the smell of my protein shakes, so Im going to start this new one, Isopure.  My Dr. recommended this one.  I think Im tolerating liquids and food better now than I did in the first week.  Im on pureed food, and today I had about 4 tbsp of soup...thats the extent of what I can eat without feeling sick.  Overally, Im getting my energy back so I would say Im doing well .  Since starting this process, Ive lost 31lbs (16 pre-op, and 15 post-op).  Hope yall have a wonderful day!   Hugs

So happy to hear you are doing well!! Keep on keepin' on!! Can't wait to join you as a loser on 12/29/11. The next 2 weeks better fly by because this eating thing is getting nasty  My doc does not require a pre-op diet, just clears the day before surgery. The pre-op diet would've been better but can't get it together on my own and yep, that's why I need this surgery!

Happy Holidays!

My date was nov 29th I start on mushies on the 20th. I have lost 26 pds I started on day of surgery before they weighed me at 195. I now am losing weight slowly but at least it's going down. I had an issue this morning with my vertigo. When I woke up the entire room was spinning. When I laid down this afternoon the room was spinning again. I called the doctor and I am waiting for a reply back. This is the first day anything weird has happened to me. Did anyone else experience this. I'm afraid to lay down and hopefully the doc calls soon.
