November Sleever's how you doin?!
I had my surgery Nov 24th. I am into the mushy stage now. I have been doing better each day. I had one very bad episode with a soft scrambled egg on Sunday but now things are back on track. I learned the hard way to make sure I take my acid pill before I eat anything. I lost 17 lbs on the 2 week pre-op diet and another 16 lbs since surgery 3 weeks ago. My weight loss has slowed down. I have been walking 6.5K on the weekend with my dogs but during the week I am too exhausted from work to excercise or even do much housework. I do hope to push myself to do more next week. I went back to work right away. I am so sick of sweet protein drinks, although I do consume 1 Premier Chocolate shake a day. I have been trying to amp up my protein through cottage cheese, greek yogurt and soft eggs as best I can. A can of pea soup will take me a week to eat it. I also have been drinking veg juices. I am struggling with this new phenomenon of feeling full and not hungry all the time. I literally have to force myself to consume anything. I also am so scared to get sick again by testing my sleeve that I am very timid eating or drinking. I am sipping fluids at my desk. I wake up in the mornings with cotton mouth so I know I need to work harder on the fluids especially if I want to start running again. I have gotten dizzy if I stand up too fast or get out of the bathtub which means I need to eat more. I hope that as the days pass I can become more comfortable. It is hard now with Christmas because I am invited to all these office functions and business meetings in restuarants and I am struggling to find anything suitable. Tomorrow and Friday are big luncheon days this week so I hope I can manage on fish chowder or seafood chowder. I may just eat the broth and mash the potatoes.
well you are not alone! I myself get dizzy spells all the time! I have a hard time with protein shakes! I have to work on that! My water and pro shake intake is very low and I believe that is why my weight loss is at a stall that I thought had left! Such a bummer! I'm almost 6 weeks out and am down 24lbs. I really need the scale to start moving down!! :) I have a hard time finding foods anywhere that I can eat easily. I need to start making some more softer foods. Steak goes down great! I have to get on the cottage cheese also!! So hard to eat!
As time goes by you will be able to tolerate things much easier!
I look forward to hearing from you at next weeks post!

I am doing really good. I am down 35 lbs since surgery. I was graduated to regular foods last week. The protein shakes are too sweet for me now. I do drink one per day but I have to either force it sort of or cut the sweetness with soy milk or almond milk. I can drink plenty of fluids. I am back as of last week. I can walk and ride the stationary bike a total of 45 minutes. Not getting sweaty yet just doing the gentle motion thing. Also I have been walking for 15 min in the mornings and sometimes at lunch too. Feeling better each day. I noticed I am fitting better in my clothes now and my jeans are loose too. I am working my way down to each stage of skinny jeans.
One word and excuse my french but HOLY****! 35pounds!! That is fantastic!! you are rocking that sleeve!!! Can I say Jealous!!! You go girl!!! May I ask your secret?! What does your diet consist of!! I'm pretty sure we would love to know!!! You go girl!!!!
Looking forward to hearing from you at next weeks post!

I make sure to drink at least 64 oz of water, and 60 -80 gr of protein about 800 cals per day. I eat about 8 small bites per meal or i have a protein shake as a meal. no starchy carbs (bread, rice or pasta), I eat about 6 bites of protein and two bites of soft veggies. I drink on can of V8 juice per day (cause I figure I am not getting enough veggies and I can tolerate it). No red meats only chicken, turkey or white fish. I eat fat free refried beans sometimes or low fat cabot sharp cheese as my protein. Also I eat very slowly, I have found that if I take bites too fast then I get a bad heartburn feeling. I walk every day at my morning break, lunch time and afternoon break for about 15 minutes. And about 3 times a week I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill or use the stationary bike. I try to occupy my down time with things that engage my mind (reading or talking with friends, getting ready for the holidays etc...) so I dont think about grazing. I try to listen to my body not head-hunger. Im down 38 lbs now. I am feeling better and I feel motivated to make this work. When I have head hunger I think to myself... what are you crazy... just had surgery to lose weight and get health and now you want to eat ________ crap? and that sort of makes me think twice about trying something that is not healthy. Hope that helps some...
Today is my four week anniversary. I went back to work yestreday.
i have lost 27lbs...i am on mushy. My diet consists of protein shake, greek yogurt, 1 cup of soup, cottage cheese and either an egg or refried beans for dinner. I am having a hard time drinking the water. i have tried a few solids...canned chicken and bagel chips...neither went well. I bought work out videos but have not started yet. I walked at lunch the last two days and have been taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Everyone at work is so excited...the joke is I will be a skinny ***** soon...I can't wait!!! Definately the best desicion I have made in my life!!!!

Hey all! I was sleeved on Nov. 2nd! I'm doing good, just frusterated!!!! I've been stalled for two weeks now at 280 and it's driving me nutso!! I've lost 24 post op. I too am into normal foods, but I still drink at least one protien shake a day and I tend to eat a lot of cottage cheese in order to get my protien in. I know one of my struggles is getting in enough water, but other than that alls well. I joined the gym last week and started with a personal trainer this week so hopefully my stall will break before too long!
