I just read a scholarly article, out of the NIH, how to increase your lean body muscle mass--here is link :
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2958879/?tool=pu bmed
PS--I myself just initiated their protocols.
This is the newest research and I doubt if any of our doctors have even read it yet.

Thanks bunnymom,

Interesting article.  My appointment today was great.,  According to my Dr I'm losing lean body mass as well as fat and the reason it's gotten so low is that i lost so much weight with the band and was not getting the required amounts of protein (this i did know) and so even though i work out I've been chipping away at stores.  Now my diet is good and I'm getting ample protein we're going to work on getting the lean body mass up with strength training.  I'm so grateful to have been given some sort of answer, i think that's all i needed.  My biggest fear is that i was going to be left with this weight as my losses were so small i was afraid my body would get used to 800 calories and this would be post maintenance life for me.  Anyhow it's  better day today.

Think about taking your medication before posting or at least put down the wine bottle.

I'm sorry...  I've been debating whether to say something or not, but this really bothers me.  Edelu is struggling and looking for answers - like we all from time to time.  Why the ridicule?   If you have a concern or disagree with her, you can definitely share that with her without resorting to sarcasm.

Everyone on this board struggles.  Everyone makes mistakes.  Everyone needs a reality check from time to time. Constructive criticism is wonderful and a very important part of "support".  But mockery isn't.

I am sure you have really excellent advice and valuable things to share.  Just take cae that the message you want to share isn't totally disregarded because of your method of delivery.

Edelu - I'm glad things are looking up for you!  I know having an answer really matters, and just understanding why you are going through what you are going through can sometimes go a long way to making it more bearable.  Good luck!!

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.

Thank you very much.  Yeah, it really felt good to have something to work toward and have some chance of improvementm rather than the way it's been up to now.

On another note i fear you now are in the path of the hornets nest.

Thanks again
