I also bruise much more easily since having surgery and I was an easy bruiser even before surgery but it's much worse now.  I always have at least 2 or 3 bruises on me that I can't explain.  I saw the doctor about this and she ran several tests which all came back normal.  Her only explanation was that after losing 125 lbs I don't have any cushioning left.

I'm having the same problem. My legs look like I'm being beaten, and I have no idea where they're coming from. My 6 month labs were all fantastic, so for now I'm just going with the 'less padding' theory.

The doctor appointment is a good idea, just to be on the safe side.  Are you on any kind of post-op heparin therapy?

I'm not a doctor, and I do not play one on TV, but I am a nurse and do have an opinion.  Seeing the doctor is a good thing.  It sounds like you broke a capillary in your finger.  Ice, elevation and compression are the best immediate treatment strategies for that.  My theory on why we tend to bruise more easily is because we are not getting the Vitamin K we need to help up clot as fast so we see more bruising.  This would be because we are not eating as many of those green leafy veggies and all those fats that we used to eat in over abundance.  I could be way off here, but it just makes since to me that we are getting so much less of Vitamin K rich foods, that our bodies are not as equipped to stop the bleeding as quickly as it could before.  I would be interested to hear what your doctor has to say on the subject.

Hope all is well.
