I hate this!!!
I was sleeved on Tuesday. I know it's too late to take it back - but I dont even have the energy to be my crazy zany self.
I can't drink protein - it smells like **** I was having chicken broth but now that's nasty. I know I'm dehydrated. But I am getting sugar free koolaid down.
I'm peeing out of my butt. I can't sleep. I feel like I'm losing ground.
Help. How did you stay hydrated? I am not worried about protein til next week. There has to be more than water and damn chicken broth.

Ask your surgeon, but for me, at your stage, ANY fluid counted toward my 64 oz.
Try everything, beef broth (low sodium), popcicles, Crystal Light, Tea (caffeine free), Milk (Lactaid if you think you might be lactose intolerant now), SF Jello. It all counted toward fluid intake for me.
Protein is important, but I was told by my surgeon to WORK UP to the required amount - they didn't even expect me to be at the 60 grams of protein at my 6 week Post op visit. It takes time.
Try different temperatures - some people prefer warmer to room temp.
Give yourself a break. Take a deep breath. You aren't going to feel "normal" for a little while because you just had major surgery.
You'l be your crazy zany self soon enough.

Totally agree with the previous poster. Anything that is liquid at room temp counts as fluid. Just make sure it's low sugar or sugar free. Warm caffeine free tea was really helpful to me first thing in the morning. Before I started doing that, it felt like I'd swallowed a ton of bricks! After one cup of tea, everything else was easier to get in. Sugar free popsicles were a life saver as well.
You are right that you are very early out... and it is difficult. Concentrate on hydration and everything else will come with time. Constant diarrhea is very normal also. You have no solids in you, so there's nothing else to come out! Hang in there... you can do this!

What all are you able to have? Are you on clear liquids or full liquids?
Try some sugar free popsicles---they were my best friend.

try sugar free popsicles, also ask the dr. if you can have low calorie gatorade if you feel like you are getting dehydrated. it's 30 calories and less than 4 grams of sugar for a cup. just worry about fluids now, protein will come in the next week or two. the chicken broth will help with the deyhdration due to the sodium. try water at different temperatures also.
take a 1 oz. medicine cup and concentrate on drinking 4 of those an hour.
