I don't have anything to add in the way of experience or advice...  BUT, I did want to thank you so much for this post.  Hair loss, especially for women, is such a difficult topic that often remains in the closet.  Thank you for speaking openly and honestly about it.  I'm sure you are helping a lot of silent sufferers!  (((HUGS)))

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.

Someone else suggested Rogaine foam, but I haven't tried it yet.  I'll just never forget how badly my scalp burned, but I'll have to give it a go.

My girls were very young when I started wearing hair systems, and we had a long talk regarding how embarrassing and painful this is for me.  It's just not even a topic any more for them.  My parents, sister, and 4 of my closest friends know.  I wish I could just bust loose and come out in the open about it.  That way I could wear different wigs/styles whenever I feel like and just not care...but I care very much.  :(

The hardest part is finding a hair stylist who has a private room to do my hair (trimming and coloring) rather than a salon where everyone is out in the open.  Those are hard to near impossible to find in my area.  I've spent thousands on 'hair' over the past several years.  As soon as my new growth (God willing soon) begins, I am going to order a new hair piece and let my hair grow so I can wear a longer style.  I've not had long hair since I was a child, and now that I'm thinner I think I could wear it better.

I hope we both start seeing little sprigs all over the top of our heads soon!!
