my hair is HORRIBLE

yes, I know this has been discussed a billion times, but I need to whine. My hair is coming out by the handfuls and the hair still on my head is frizzy as heck and ugh, my hair is not pretty. Lol..the hair loss is taking away from the newfound confidence that I have had due to losing weight.

I know its temporary, and I think I need to visit the hairdresser and get a new color and cut, that will help....but seeing the hair fall out like this sucks. I was hoping I would somehow excape this side effect of the surgery.

Starting to go through it a bit myself.  The nutritionist said the protein is the most important factor but just having surgery will cause some hair loss from stresses of antestetic and I have had two surgeries in 3 1/2 months so I have a double whammy there...lol.

The nutritionist said to expect to lose about 100 hairs a day and eventually it will stop and start growing back in.

Of course where I notice it is in the very front, and it is thinner...I have long hair down to my waist and so I may have to try some kind of comb over crazy hair do...haha.....

I have to laugh at it and figure it is just part of the package of losing this weight.

Hang in there, I am going to pick up some material to make a couple bandanas to play with and see if I can bring an old  70's hair accesory fashion back....

Take care and good luck, you have done amazing!!

sorry the hair loss is severe and bothering you so terribly! It will stop - eventually. Lucky for me I'm a guy and I've decided I'm just going to shave my head if and when it gets too bad and just let it grow back in.

I think mine MIGHT be starting to slow down a little. Just hang in there. It still gets to me sometimes, but I just keep trusting that it will be okay. ((HUGS)) I cut mine into an A-line bob recently. Before that, I used hot rollers to give it volume.

Mine looks awful right now, too. Several years back I lost 75 pounds and I had hair loss then, too. I don't feel it ever got back to it's normal state. But I plan to wear Santa Hats over the holidays because I simply cannot make this flat frizzy head of hair look decent.

Hugs!  It'll get better.  And, yes, keeping up your protein matters.  Making sure you're not anemic matters.  Use one of the nioxin shampoos. Take biotin.  And pray!

A new cut and color with definitely help.  And get one of the keritin hair powders (I use XFusion, but there are several out there that are the same thing) to make your hair look and feel fuller.

And pray some more.

OK, long frizzy coarse hair starting to notice I am 'shedding' all over the place. ONLY thing that works for me other then a ponytail is straightening it. I know, the heat isn't going to help it either but it actually looks somewhat healthier. The greys are coming in here and I said no more color until I see what is going on lol, my hair just feels like it is dead.
