Not brave enough to change my goal weight... yet?
Now, here I am, less than 8 lbs from that goal, and I really think I want to at least try for 160lbs... that will put me at a "normal" BMI....
If I am honest, I have half wasted 2 of my first 6 months.... I started slipping up after I hit my under 200 for my birthday goal in mid October and then my divorce was final a week later... I can admit that I wasn't in a good place and my eating showed it. I have gotten back on track in the past week or so, with a lot of work, and really feel like I am in a good place again... but it is scary to change that number.... I kinda just want to have my little butterfly flutter below goal...
It's about accountability though, right??? Should I figure out how to change it... or let it ride??? AHHH! :-)
Just get there first and then see how you feel about yourself. I hit my goal earlier this month and decided that I wanted to lose another 5-10 because maintenance scares the fire out of me. I really wanted to pad my loss so that while I tweak my diet to learn to maintain, I don't go back over my goal weight - not to mention the fact that 10 pounds under goal would seriously be a "dream weight" for me that I didn't know if I could ever achieve. Just take it one day at a time and see how you feel. That's what is working for me and I hope it works for you too. Congratulations on your success! You are doing fabulous!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!

I see that you lost a lot pre-op, but still.
At this point I have a maintenance mind set (for me, I'm not saying I know what a general maintenance mind set is). I'm focusing on getting in what I need to get in--protein, water, vegetables, vitamins. I'm doing strength training and lots of bicycling.
I am still losing at a slow rate, and know that I'm going to drop below 150. I've thought about revising my goal, but it really feels like I'm just picking a number out of a hat. For now my plan is to take care of business and let the scale do what it will.
That being said, do go for a normal BMI goal!! You are so clearly succeeding that there is no reason to have your goal be less than that.
You haven't wasted anything. You are rocking!!
Congrats on the great weight loss!
