In an ongoing effort to see where I should be in the daily calorie counts now that I am somewhat smaller I would like someone to take a look at my food choices today.

I know the whole milk in the coffee is killing me, but I really love my coffee just right...might have to give it up for a while though.

1 cup of whole milk (spread out over 2 cups of coffee in 5 hours time)
1 egg omlet with 1 oz cheddar cheese (only at 2/3 of it)

chicken salad:
2 oz of boneless chicken
.5 oz of red onion
1.5 tbs of lite mayo
1 tbs parm cheese
1 lite cheese stick (cut and crisped as crackers)

Totals (so far today)
612 calories
41.6 gm fat
14.9 gm carbs
44.5 gm protein

Thanks,
Donna

It doesn't look that bad to me, other than the milk. Have you tried Lactaid milk? I find that the fat free has the taste/consistency of 2%. It might save a bit on the calories/fat. Carbs are the same.

I would just change to a different milk. But your calories are already pretty low IMO

I missed the fact that this was only so far in your day...
I still think it looks good. You can do something lighter for dinner and easily stay under 800 cals

Yep, it's the milk that's getting those calories up.  The rest looks good to me as well.  I understand about the coffee being just right, but I would experiment with some other options, who knows, you might find something you like better that fits into your plan.  I don't have any suggestions as I drink my coffee black...

I drink a supermarket brand of milk (local to Texas) that has added protein and 45% less sugar than regular milk. It is also lactose-free. My family, who doesn't bother to read what is prominently written on the carton, loves it! The taste is better than unadulterated milk, IMO. Maybe you could try something like that to up your protein a bit while decreasing your calories.

Also, you could use greek yogurt in your chicken salad instead of lite mayo and remove a little more fat and add a little more protein. It wouldn't be much because of the amount you are using, but every little bit could help.

Best of luck to you!

If you don't mind me asking...what is that supermarket brand of milk?

Sorry, just saw this.

It is HEB Mootopia milk. I just went to the fridge to grab the carton so I could type in the nutrient information, but I am apparently out.

For my 2 cups of cofee in the morning, I drink Muscle Milk Protein Shake. an 11oz carton has 20g protein,3g sugar, 180calories and 7g fat.  It's like having grownup hot chocolate.  It also comes as Muscle Milk Lite which has 17g protein,( I don't have the rest of the stats on hand right now).  And French Vanilla is also a flavor.  Good Luck.

I understand about coffee being just right, I need my coffee just right also.  I have discovered that my taste buds can change and adopt to new tastes.  I now make my morning coffee into a mocha.  I use chocolate soy slender, about 1/2 cup for very little calories.  I don't know what I would do without it.  What I am trying to say is you might consider finding a new way to enjoy it and it might turn out to be even better.
