Doc, when did you start to notice your restriction lessening?  Honestly, my restriction is so tight that I'm hoping it will ease up, though I'm only 4.5  months out.  I can't eat more than a few bites of anything, and It's kind of depressing me even though I know that was the point of this surgery...

its started to loosen about 4.5 months out by very little. about 7 months more.
We can train ouor sleeves to do anything we want.  I just only wish I would have been
more restrictive in my early days.  enjoy your restriction.  the 1st 6 months is when you lose most of your weight then is slows...  but I am not saying stop.

Yes, I'm definitely enjoying the weight loss, that's for sure!  I think I'm just going through a little depression about whether I'll ever be able to eat a "normal" small meal again.  You know, like for a special dinner out or something.  I realize that it's a double edged sword--if I could do that, I'd likely do it more often than once in a while.  Careful what you wish for, I suppose!

Hey Woman!  What a journey you're on....and a big inspiration for the board!  Almost one year ago, I "saw" you at the KP meeting, remember that woman talking along the lines of "Thank God, I can still eat a full 6" Subway with my family....." and most of the crowd nodded and chuckled?  You were the only one who openly asked ..."Why do that to your body...?" and you really gave the NUTS a chance to open a new way of speaking to those who were still pre-op and hopeful, vets shaking their heads no and the middle-ings who were praising the ability to continue eating junk...you have been such a gentle leader and strong mother to offer those pain-provoking but God's honest truth questions of "Why?"...why do that to your body after having MAJOR surgery....that nothing was going to be the same, you will have to take your vits/mins, keep up on pure protein levels and darn it, get out and move alittle. Damn woman, you are truly amazing and have so much power..(and people I know, because I have seen her in action at support mtgs)

One year already and you've done so well.  I know you are kicking yourself for not making "goal" by your anniversary, but know that you can do it!  You've proven it already and if you really want to make it to "that" number then you know what to do.  Remember what our NUTS told us, aim to get to a lower number because your body will add some pounds later to stabilize and why not stabilize at a good healthy weight?  That's what X told me when he said my number should be 127!!!!

If you choose to kill those last 10 lbs, then go back to the book, ramp up the dense proteins, cut back (alittle) on the carbs and natural sugars in fruit and do it.  You can use your new smoothies to help maintain your goal weight or heck, maybe put on a few if you choose.

You definitely DO NOT NEED to lose any more weight because you look fantastic and have come so far, but I "know" you and know you will wrestle with "the number" even more as your anniversary approaches.  Please don't beat yourself up about it. Pray about it, self talk along the shoreline and honest talk about it to the NUTS/Suzanne - maybe even email Dr Mun with your feelings about it (!)...with such a team, you can't go wrong!

Congrats lady - well done!

Congratulations Doc,

On all your success and I wish you continued success. You are a true inspiration to me and thank you again for the green shake recipes. I am 10 months out still holding good restriction ( I guess I should cherish this for now :/, and I finally made it to onderland, my doctor told me his goal was 180 pounds and I almost fell out. I will be getting down to 160 then eventually to 140. I will also look into going to OA myself I want to kick the sugar hopefully I find one in Southern California.

You look great, keep up the good work, I appreciate you

Hi Doc,

Thank you I can't wait to get to goal!!! Yes I am doing the green smoothies three times a week with the DE, I can see a difference in my skin!!!!, I live in Long Beach CA so I'm close to Torrance, Carson, and Harbor city. I will definitely look up the OA meetings I need it, I don't give into the compulsion but it is still there.

I am more jealous of how beautiful you are at "your age."  Damn girl, if you want to lose those last 11 pounds I know you will.  Maybe I should soak in your green smoothies just to get some of that glow that you always show in pics.  Have a great weekend!

I am not big boned!  Bones don't jiggle!
