Today was tough

I spent the last 24 hours with my daughter at first in the emergency room then waiting while she had emergency surgery.

It appears when her IUD failed last month and left her with a risk laden pregnancy, which she thought she had miscarried, but apparently was mis-diagnosed. and instead she had a tubal pregnacy that was left unchecked which then burst the tube and left her bleeding internally.

After several trips to the obgyn and the emergency room where they totally missed the tubal, which forced them to do emergency laproscopic surgery today to remove the tube and the blood from her abdomen.

IUD's have a higher risk of failure when you are obese! You think someone would have mentioned that to a 25 year old girl who did not want to be pregnant!

Anyway, she is doing fine tonight. Sore and tired. Should come home tomorrow if her blood counts come up.

Anyone know how long she should wait to get the VSG done now, safely?
It was scheduled for March 5th, but now I will need to talk to her surgeon as well as others.

I'm not sure but I had lapro. gallbladder surgery 2 and 1/2 month before my sleeve, so hopefully she won't have to cancel.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's troubles. Hope she heals quickly and feels better soon.

I don't know the answer to your question but more than likely her doctor will want her to be as well as she can be when he does the surgery. Five weeks may be enough to recover from what she's been through. Hope whatever the doctor adivses works out for her timewise. Don't know about her, but I had to plan my time off, ride to and from the hospital, some assistance afterwards, budget, etc. around other people's schedules. It can be a mess to be all set up and then have to change it.

Oh my goodness! That is so scary for both your daughter and you!

I am glad to hear she is going to be okay now though; a tubal pregnancy is no joke for sure.  Thank goodness they finally found it before the worst happened.

I admire your strength in being there for her.  I wish you both well.
