I'm Hungry
Relax, take a deep breath! If you are not over-eating, then your stomach is not expanding unncessarily. The swelling may be going down over time, which may explain any changes in volume you have.
Eat measured, small (very small) amounts and go slow. That's the best recipe for success at this stage.
It can takes weeks for the hunger hormone to leave our system. And other areas of our body besides the stomach produce it, so some never totally lose their hunger. Are you on a PPI to reduce stomach acid? Acid can mimic hunger. Also, head hunger can seem a lot like real hunger, but definitely spend time learning the difference by listening to your body.
Also, do not drink for at least 60 minutes following eating. If your stomach empties too quickly, you may feel hungry sooner.
Hope this helps.

I would like you to consider a couple of questions.
1) Are you sure you are hungry and not thirsty? Early on, it became clear to me that my huger and thirst signals were exactly the same, and I could not tell the difference. This meant that whenever I felt hunger/thirst, I would first drink a huge amount of liquid. About 80% of the time, this alone took care of the problem.
2) Are you on the right dose and the correct acid blocker. Acid also mimics the hunger sensation, sometimes more/better acid control takes this feeling away.
3) How often are you eating? I found that I needed something every 3-4 hours. I would never feel any hunger at all early out, but later, some hunger returned. I learned to make sure that at least three hours had gone by before I put any other food into my mouth. No one ever died from waiting an hour to eat.
4) I am assuming that you are eating almost all protein at this stage. If I am wrong, that is the problem right there. Carbs make most of us crave more carbs. For now, I am hoping you are keeping your carbs really low ( under 40 grams) and protein at 70 or higher. You might want to try to increase your protein all the way to 100 grams, and keep your calories the same. This will help. Once you are cleared to eat dense protein, eat it at every meal to be followed by green veggies. Also, fiber rich veggies are a huge help to fight hunger.
I hope you find something that works for you, there is no reason, none at all, to be hungry. There are many things that can be done to keep you on your program but reduce or eliminate the hunger.

I was hungry a lot on purees and soft foods. Once I was cleared for all foods, I found that 1-2 oz. dense protein (like actual steak or chicken, not ground meat) really kept me full for 3-4 hours. I do not have a lot of issues with hunger now. It was surprising to hear that some people lost their hunger. I never did, but my hunger is very appropriate now (meal times) and easily satisfied, but really only with the dense protein.
As far as our tummies getting bigger, I am about 5 months out and I still cannot eat more than 2 or 2-1/2 ounces of dense protein. Other foods, I can eat more of, but as soon as I start on that dense protein, I will get satisfied quickly. So, it may get better for you too, after you're eating more regular foods.
