 Have a great flight!! Enjoy the ride there, it is very scenic through San Diego. You are in great hands. Just remember to have a protein bar on hand, since you won't be able to eat anything until after  your testing, and then dinner will be very late. I was the first surgery of the 3, which was ideal for me, because I hate waiting around.

 You bet Moonglo. I arrived in San Diego and the driver was waiting for me. The drive to Mexicali was uneventful. It is very rural on the way, lots of fields and mountains changing geological landscape from mountains to desert floor if you are into geology.  Guess I just assumed it would be city to the border. Yolanda greeted me at the hospital where I was escorted for X-rays, the lab and ECG. The hotel is fairly close to the hospital and the driver Ramone who speaks very good English will be there to pickme up at 7. Surgery will be around 9-9:30 after I get the lab results and meet the nutritionist Dr. Campos and Dr. Aceves.  The hotel is a Crowne Plaza very nice much nicer than the Super8 I stayed at in Calgary last night. I stood outside for a bit it's freaking hot around 30c at noon. I have never in my life used ac in February. It was -40c a couple weeks ago I'm Edmonton. I will definitely enjoy my time away from the north.
