Surgery went well.  I slept most of the afternoon way. Woke up a couple of times. During the night. No problems in the bathroom. Today no gas, minimal pain at the incisionsite and I have sipped the blue leak test die already and walked the hall several times. I am on to tea and weak juice now. Which seems to be going down. Ok. A fair bit of gurgling but no pain. The hospital big clean and friendly staff. Enjoying my experience so far and my Canadian family and friends appreciate that they can see me on Skype   The hospital has free wifi

I had a great experience in Mexicali.  Tell Dr. Aceves and his partner hello from me!  I am 4 months out and down 49 lbs since surgery!  I can't thank Dr. Aceves enough for the great care he took with me and my friend!

Keep sipping, and walking, sipping and walking!  Welcome to the losers bench!

Great job!  I loved Dr. Aceves,  Dr. Campos, Yolanda and her assistant (I can't remember her name offhand).  I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow.  It sounds like you are recovering much better than I did but then I had my surgery late in the afternoon so I was a little more tired the next morning.

Good luck on your weight loss journey.

congrats!!! glad you are well. I too, was there 1 year and 10 days ago. you'll be glad you did it. in around 7 months I was almost in my goal weight.

advice: get a little more Nexium home than they recommend, so you don't have to find alternatives. I believe I needed it for at least 5 months, 1 pill a day.

honestly I did not connect mentally with Dr. A., (and I connect well with almost any human being!) - I think he was upset with me as I arrived there still undecided... but this doesn't diminish his good work: a specialist at NY University who saw me when I was back said that the surgeon "did a perfect job"! and this is what matters :D hey, the free wi-fi is new!

have a speedy recovery and be well!

The staff is great very little pain today a bit more tonight at the drain site. But sipping was not nearly as scarey or painful as I imagined. Leak test tomorrow

I was in a little discomfort last night at incision site and asked for something for pain and to sleep. Knocked me out till 7. I just had the barium exray done bitter tasting but over in a minute. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The Mecicans are very friendly but all seem to talk kinda loud and at the same time. not used to that. Overall has been great experience and not the pain or gas pain that I heard about. Have a good day Moonglo  I can't wait for you to be a sleever to.
