Don't do it.

It's not reversable as they say, is prone to scarring, some of the stomach tissue sometimes dies. Weight loss statistics are not as good and complication rate is higher.

And here's the thing: With either surgery you get smaller capacity. With the sleeve, since the portion of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone is gone, you get reduced hunger - in most cases, very reduced.

I cannot imagine having the tiny capacity and yet still having the hunger.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

I have only heard negative things about it, but I must admit I didn't know what it was until recently. It sounds like torture to me, and even worse than the band. Like the band, people are drawn to it because it is less invasive, and deemed reversible. We have seen how well that went, with the band. Scar tissue is a huge issue and lets not forget about still feeling hungry while only being able to eat a little bit. Imagine it on a bigger scale with the plication.

Try looking on the revision board, to see if anyone who had the plication can give you first hand experience. There are a few people on here who have it, but it isn't a popular surgery for a reason.
