Trying to decide.
Don't hate the idea of cutting away the stomach. It's brilliant. It's why so many of us aren't hungry after sleeve surgery. My hunger is like 10% of what it used to be.
Remember that the lapband isn't a lifetime product - unless you are going to have an early death, that band is going to come out of you at some point, and when it does, you'll start weight regain immediately.

I've had a band, and now over 2.5 years out of having to revise to VSG, I can tell you there is nothing more extreme about VSG vs. the band.
I puked on water some days, I knew what public restroom stalls echoed the most because I had puked up in most of them then just got tired of food getting stuck so we quit going out to eat. That's a horrible quality of life, and that's just scratching the surface. I had chronic daily pain from my port. It flipped early out, then migrated and caused the tubing to actually pull on my stomach which in turn destroyed my stomach tissue. Least to say, VSG has been amazing vs. what I experienced with my band in the 8 months it was in my body.
The band sounds great, reversible, can be removed, what they neglect to tell you is just how much damage it will do to your body before it's gotta come out. To this very day, I have permanent nerve damage that causes me random pain. I've had every diagnostic test under the sun to determine why I have pain, and the only conclusion my team of doctors can come up with nerve damage.
Think twice, cut once. There's nothing to love about the band, it offers the lowest and slowest weight loss, the most food restrictions, longest list of complications and highest rate of reoperation. That doesn't even take into consideration the fills, unfills, food getting stuck, not being able to eat meats, lettuce, and a whole list of other foods that just don't work after banding.
I have zero regrets with my sleeve. I don't even regret my band experience, it taught me a lot about myself, and my food issues. Would I have rather skipped those 8 months of hell? Sure I would have, but I wouldn't be here today, if I hadn't gone through it.
