Day 13 Need Food Ideas
VSG on 02/06/12
Day 13 and things are going pretty well. Really high dark purple keystones today. So I know I am burning but scale isn't showing drastic changes but then I have only been home a week. Fluid intake is about right on at 2litres/64 oz per day but this includes all liquids not jus****er. I would like to increase this. I like chicken broth and that has been warm and comforting but adding the Unjury chicken flavor Protien powder
(I added some hot sauce drops that helped the flavour and tummy was ok) and other protein powders to stuff is not appetizing. Never thought I would see the day when I had to force myself to eat. Half a scoop of vanilla Protien in 1/2 cup of yogurt is pretty good. I will try some cottage cheese for the first time later today. So far my favorite breakfast is the Premier Protien premixed shake for flavor and texture. I have been adding water and instant coffee or torani syrup for different taste combinations.
I tried some V8 creamy style carrot soup yesterday and it was good but the 1 cup serving size is 28 g of carbs which is the whole day in one serving. Any suggestions on other brands that are lower in carbs?
Thank you Julie

I think I have read on a few threads here where people have said that they tend to put the carb rules on the back burner until they get to the full foods stage, but I could be wrong about that. It doesn't seem possible to eat soft foods and low carb at the same time, especailly if you're like me and don't like eggs. Hmm...
No other advice here, but I'm glad you're doing so well!

I'm one who put the carb rules on hold until I was cleared for all stages. Mind you, I didn't eat things sweetened with sugar, so I stuck to SF puddings & jello and stuff like that, but I didn't mind eating things like all-natural applesauce, thinned cream of wheat, etc. I figured the objective early out was to slowly re-introduce food to my poor abused tummy. That carrot soup is high in carbs because carrots have a lot of natural sugar, but you won't be able to eat much more than a cup, or if you're concerned you could thin it with a little broth or milk.
Once I went to all foods, my carbs came from dairy, low-sugar vegs like asparagus, broc, cauli, and such, berries (the only fruit I ate, and still is mostly), beans, nuts, etc. No sugar, no grains (including oatmeal which was too carby for me.) And by the way, I wasn't perfect on this plan, haha, but enough that I got to goal and beyond.
