sleeved and home - a lot of discomfort

i know everyones experience is different - but i really wasn't expecting so much pain. i was sleeved on the 7th and had a bad reaction to the morphine - it took another day to find the right meds that didn't cause the major dry heeves*. i'm also struggling to get past a few sips of water... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i know - i didn't think it was possible to love and appreciate him more but i do. i keep trying to take note of even the small improvements - but i really wasn't prepared for the pain. glad to know i'm not in it alone. wishing all the best and a speedy recovery.

I was sleeved on the 7th also. My pain level was less than I expected, but I have had 3 C-sections and a hysterectomy, so this was not as bad. I found it helps to take the liqiud Roxicet every 3-4 hours and not letting it wear off. Don't wait until you are in pain -just take it on scheduled. Keep sipping -sometimes even ice chips that you let melt in your mouth will help. I also found that warm liquids were more soothing than cold, like chilcken broth. Good luck!
Ask for some Zofran or Phenergan. They should have sent you home with some if you are having bad nausea. The phenergan is an antihistamine and will help with itching too if that is one of your pain med reactions.
I wasn't expecting the pain either. It was a lot worse than I expected. Try ice. If you can find the little pellett/nugget ice and just let it melt in your mouth. That helped me. Good luck!

I was sleeved on March 8 and was a little surprised about the pain too. I also ran a fever 100.8. That scared me a little, but I am starting to feel better today. I have been walking plenty trying to work out the gas. First day was hard to get the fluids down too. But yesterday and today is much easier. I got sugar free popcycles and that seems to help. I also have been taking my Loratab round the clock and that seems to be helping. I did start feeling a little weak though once I added chicken broth and gatorade with. half water I am no longer feeling week. I am hoping its all good from this point forward :) Good luck to you

I was sleeved on March 5th. It has gone pretty well over all. I started protein drinks yesterday and got a lot more protein in then expected (app 50 grams) and 34 oz of fluids but now today I really don't feel like eating or drinking and felt nasuea this a.m. The anti naseau medicine really helped with that but I feel so full today that I've barely had any thing to drink. The pain is improving in some ways but the side of my stomach under my ribs feels especially tender. I hope to didn't hurt it trying to get comfortable in bed last night. I thought I'd try to sleep on my side to work the gas out but No way was that going to work! Does it seem weird to anyone that I could eat so well yesterday and then not at all today?
