just got the phone call one on one with the doc this thu then vsg the next week .i will be 65 in april and need to get it done before my medicare kicks in 4/1 as they do not pay for vsg as of now.
have to say iM SCARED...ANY ONE OUT THERE MY AGE?? THANKS BRUCE

I was 56 when I had mine but if you have had all of the preop test done you will be fine and even better after!!

VSG on 08/24/11

I was 59 when I had surgery (close enough to 65 for government work). The Kaiser support groups I attend have members who are 60 plus. Your doctor wants to show good results and shouldn't approve you unless you are healthy enough to do well. Good luck!!

You would'nt be normal if you didn't have any reservations about going forward.

My husband was 58 when he had his and it didn't even faze him one bit.
I had no issues after surgery either.
My daughter just got back a week ago and she hasn't had any issues.

The surgery is about an hour long.
You will be fine, I'm sure.

Follow the pre-op diet faithfully and listen to your doc's orders.

You are going to feel awesome when it's all done.
