How much time should I expect?

I currently work at a grocery store and I don't get health insurance if I don't work.  I'm hopefully having the surgery in 6 months or so.  How long would you anticipate me to be out of work?  I have three weeks of vacation saved up, but I'm also looking for a second job (or a better one), so I don't know how that will change.

I had surgery on a Wed. went back to work the following Mon. I even had a JP drain for the first week after surgery! I work in a dr. office lab. I have to do alot of walking and standing and lifting on patients from time to time. I draw the labs and run them.

I had surgery on February 15th and I'm not going bac****il March 26th. My job requires alot of lifting and moving around. Your time off is based on your duties at work.

I had surgery Nov. 10th and went back to work 7 days after. I am a hairdresser on my feet all day. No lifting though.

I had surgery on a Wednesday. I had the rest of that week and the next week off (which is right now) I will be going back to work on Monday. I think that will be good timing but I honestly could not have done it any sooner than that!

I talked to a couple of people that had the surgery before me and they said 4 weeks to 6 weeks. I see here that it is also job duty dependant. I was off for 6 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it as it was the first time i have had like that in years. AWe shared the same surgeon and he recommends 4 weeks but it varies case to case, job to job etc.

Good luck, the journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step.
Remember  it's bariactric surgery, not brain surgery! You need to get your head in the game!!!!
