How long did you drink protein shakes?
I was one who wanted to get off the shakes as quickly as possible, I just had a horrible intolerance for them (and I think they might have had some impact to the flare-up of my ulcerative colitis at the end of last year). After about 3 months I got to the point where I could get my protein from food and keep my calories/fat/carbs where I wanted. I typically hit between 800-1000 cals/day, less than 60 grams of carbs and fat, and at least 75 grams of protein. I have to plan out my food pretty well to hit my targets but I'd much rather do that than deal with shakes again.
