cheap decent mexican surgeon?
My mom used Dr. Ponce and Dr. Frarye (pronounced Dr. Friday). They work together in the operating room (both great surgeons). Was over $5k slightly but close to it. They were GREAT with her!!! She got better care in Mexico than I got here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!! Dr. Frarye comes to the US (louisiana) frequently also. idk if you'd be able to make it to meet him. but, he's friends with my friend who teaches at a college here. He so sweet! I had problems after my sleeve here...prolonged unusu'al nausea...he was 'examining' me when my mom came to meet him in Louisiana before going to Mexico. He wanted to do an upper gi on me at his hospital to see what was wrong, etc. He's just genuine and very caring. You rarely find that here in the US. My nausea had improved by the time I went to Mexico a week later (got iv fluids here and lots of iv zofran, and three nausea meds). So, I didnt need the upper gi afterall. But, he did offer it free b/c he was really concerned.
**note: My surgeon was EXCELLENT here. The nursing staff at my hospital was AWFUL. I used Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet. If you are in Louisiana, avoid that...or make sure you schedule an early week surgery...if you schedule on a Friday....you get stuck with horrible nurses. My experience more than once..I hate being in a hopital over the weekend. The care really isn't the same!!**
