Depression and WLS

Effexor has some serious withdrawals, so wean yourself off slowly with the aid of your physician if you really must get off it. But I have depression too, have most of my adult life. Mostly it stems from my weight. I wouldn't dream of getting off meds or the stalls would make me postal.

I suffer from depression and I take Maxalt Melt for my migraines. Do you take Maxalt pill for your migraines or do you take Melt? The Maxalt pill did not work for me.

Thanks everyone. I've decided not to try and go off my meds. I always thought my depression could be from being overweight, but from what everyone is saying, that's not the case. I had an appt with my doc on Monday, and we decided to up my Effexor XR to 150 mg, which research states helps with migraines, and I swtiched to the Maxalt melt. I haven't started either yet.
I don't think that I'm "that" depressed, but I overheard my 6 yo little girl telling her friend that her mommy likes to sleep alot. And, it's true. I fight to stay out of the bed on the weekends. Not every weekend though. I think it's the combo of going through a divorce, having sole parenting responsibility (her dad lives 1000 miles away), a stressful, stressful job, and worried about my daughter being overweight. Sorry for rambling....
Again, thank y'all so very much for the support!!!!
