Manitoba Harvest Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds

I bought a bag of this today at Costco. I had never heard of these. They have 10g of protein per 3 tbsp. You can sprinkle it on yogurt, salads,shakes, cereal, oatmeal, etc. I sprinkled some on my Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt and loved it. If they taste good, I can see myself buying them.... They are a little high in calories, but comparable to one of my favorite snacks- soy nuts :)

They are soo tiny, but add just a lil bit of a soft crunch to my yogurt. I am pretty sure they are just as good on salads, in shakes or oatmeal. I will definately wait to use these post op closer to my weight maintanance stage :-)
They look pretty good other than the high calories and high fat. Pumpkin seeds have similar stats and I love them. But have chosen to wait until maintenance to dig into them.

I will do the same and wait then, for when I am post op and closer to my goal weight also :-)
I waited to add the pumpkin seeds, too, but not until goal (obviously). I waited about 8 months post op. Well, my weight loss slowed down (almost stopped) so I had to cut some things back. It's always easier to add things in than cut them out!! LOL So waiting is a very smart thing. Wish I would never have had them until goal.

Manitoba Hemp Hearts/ Mini Protein Muffins
1 Egg
3 TBSP milk
2 TBSP vanilla
1/2 banana, mashed
1 TBSP vegetable oil
3 TBSP multigrain pancake mix
3 TBSP Manitoba Hemp Hearts
1 tsp cinnamon
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Mix wet ingredients, and dry ingredients separately. Add the dry to wet and mix...I make mine in the Baby Cakes muffin maker...But they can be baked at your choice of temperature.
