Yeah, I had to do the 6-month thing too. I don't know what they're looking for exactly...except just tracking you have been meeting with the NUT and trying. I made sure to show up for each appointment and not to reschedule...I've heard that if you go five weeks instead of four or something they can get kind of picky...but I didn't have any trouble with that.
As far as losing "too much" I'm not sure. It probably depends on how much you weigh to begin with and if you have (and how many) any other comorbidities. I was heavier anyway...I started the whole program at just over 330. In the first thre months I lost about 15lbs...but then I gained it back. At my pre-op appointment I weighted 328. I don't really have comorbidities...I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes or anything. They did find mild sleep apnea...but only if I sleep on my back, which I never do.
Good luck to you!!!

I too have Cigna (in KY) I was just pre-approved and now have to do a 6 month diet physician supervised program. I had my Psych appt 2 weeks ago and it was easy and I knew all the right answers. She basically asked me about my eating habits, am I a binge eater, am I an emotional eater etc.
Im sure you will do fine. Im hoping for a Sept date - Im ready to move on to the next phase in my life and hope the the next 6 months goes quickly. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Im going through a Hospital Weight Loss Center and before I could start the "program" they submitted all my vital info for pre-approval and as long as I weigh in each month and attend 1 class a month then I will get a surgery date. Im not sure what state you are in but when I called Cigna to see what my benefits were they directed me to the website to search for bariatric benefits and it gives specific criteria that must be met.
Im not wanting to alarm you but just wanted to share my experience with you - Good Luck!

Twinkle1011 I took the same type of test before speaking to the psych. The reason it asks the questions the way it does is to help judge your fitness for the changes. Things that have affected us in the past are going to continue to affect our future unless we learn how to handle it in a different way. For many of us ( or at least me) when i had a life setback I would go to food. I also would sabotage any success I had because it was easier to accept causing my own failure then succeeding and having expectations increased then fail.
