Stressed out!
So my husband just handed me a memo from his job. They are switching Insurance Companies. We are going from Amerihealth to Aetna. The letter is pretty vague and only talks about changes in the co-pays and prescriptions. Doesn't say anything about coverage.
I know that with Amerihealth they covered the surgery as long as i completed my 6 months with the NUT. 100% coverage after my $300 Deductable.
Will Aetna be the same or will they have all kinds of different rules. (If i dont have to wait the 6 months that would be great but im freaking out about what if they dont cover it at all)
Have any of you gone through this situation? Change is effective April 1. Letter says we should have our insurance cards before the 1st.
thanks

You have to get a copy of the new policy and see if WLS is covered. It's all a question of whether your husband's employer chose to cover it or not.
If it's covered, you'll have to meet the new insurance requirements, but I imagine they'll accept whatever you've done for the prior insurance as long as it meets their requirements. Hope it works out for you!

I have Aetna and unfortunately the level I have covers absolutely nothing weight related. But my company went the cheap route and got the cheap plan. Some of the aetna's cover it if you have co-morbidities. You will just have to call and see what coverage they extend. Good Luck
