OMG I'm sitting here because I can't do anything else.  I got up at 5:45 and walked my neighbors dogs for 35 min at a 19min pace (day 3 of this).  Came home made myself a protein shake and 8oz of water.  Drank water first then protein shake.  But I'm sitting here and I'm absolutely buzzing, my heart is beating fast, I have a headache and I'm super dizzy.  Dehydrated?  That's what it sounds like to me but I've been drinking.  Any other ideas?

How much have you been drinking?

Are you on either high blood pressure medication or blood sugar medication?

No to both.  I am wondering if maybe it's blood sugar.  I only got like 350 calories in yesterday, so I was starting at a deficit.  I've been good abou****er.  Right around 60oz a day.

Probably is your blood sugar.

60 oz of fluids is great for how far out you are, but as you progress keep trying to up it. I found that the amount of fluids I got correlated with how well I was losing. I did best over 100 oz, though it took me until 3 months out or so before I could get to that.

so how does one fix the low blood sugar thing when I can't stand for more than 30 seconds before the world spins. . . Would apple juice be appropriate at this point.  I know it's a crap load of carbs but I'm home alone with the kids for the first time and I'm terrified I'm going to not be conscious!

I had a lot of trouble with this the first few weeks post op.  My blood sugar was dropping very low, and usually it was more of an issue first thing in the morning.  I found that if I drank 4 ounces of soy milk it would make me feel a ton better.

Another OH friend here had dizzy issues, and she realized she needed to increase fluids.  It was a dehydration issue.  She also had a bit of issue with low blood pressure, which also can cause dizziness.

Try to pay attention to when it hits.  Correlate it to fluid intake and carbs to see if you can rule out one or the other.  I would also mention it to the doc.

When I was a bit farther out than you, I started getting dizziness related to blood sugar.  To help this, I eat every 3-4 hours.  In addition, I have a carby/protein snack before working out.  After working out, I have a protein snack or meal.

I also drink water before/during workout sessions, to help avoid dizzines.

Back when I was going low with my blood sugar, the diabetes team told me to drink (or eat) something with honey in it so I would brew a little decaff tea and use honey in it. It always helped until I finally got my BG under control.
