If you are sure your not dehydrated then it very well could be low blood sugars. Your body is adjusting to very low calories/carbs so it might take it a while to balance out. My first suggestion would be to have your protein shake before you exercise.
I am hypoglycemic. Mine developed after WLS but once we realized what was wrong it has been easy to make the necessary adjustments. I always have a protein shake within 30-45 minutes after waking up or before exercising.
If I exercise without the shake or some type of nutrition, my sugars crash rapidly. I generally eat every 2-3 hours during the day and have a high protein/fat snack right before bed ever night to avoid waking up at 3 am in the middle of a crash.
I honestly feel I'm an exception to the rule. A lot of us have the sugar issues early post-op but as our body adjusts to low calorie/carb, the sugar levels balance out. Unfortunately mine didnt adjust.
I'm not sharing this info to scare, just to make you aware. Hang in there!!
