I am feeling better everyday.  I'm 4 days out and I'm starting to feel like I can somewhat function.  I still have some major pain in the "big" incision   Anyone else?  I'm not much for pain meds (had 2 c-sections and never took anything more than motrin), but I am having to take these percocets like clockwork to keep the pain manageable.  Ugh.

Anyways, I know in the beginning we're really supposed to be focusing on keeping hydrated, walking, & resting....but I'm curious about the rest of you.  Can you eat anything?  I could easily go the entire day w/out eating a thing.  It's hard enough to drink fluids.  I have forced myself to take a few bites of applesauce, yogurt, jello, etc....but I'm just wondering when you start to want stuff?  I've also tried to drink some protein shake but it's just not happening.  When do I really need to start worrying about getting all the protein in?

I know I should know this.  I read every post on here for MONTHS beforehand...but it seems that once I had surgery my brain turned to mush.  Help :)

At four days out, you should really still be just on liquids.  The applesauce and yogurt may be keeping you from getting your fluids in as they are probably very heavy on your new tummy.  Right now try to stick to liquid protein in some form and popsicles.  It sucks but it's the best for your new tummy.

Even if my doctors instructions have me on full liquids?

I was on full liquids starting at day 4 and have done just fine.  I wouldn't sweat getting in all your protein too much the first week or so, but do make sure you stay hydrated.  Good luck!

Really? I am almost 2 weeks out and still on clear liquids. He did say he was in the middle of revising his plan though. I can't wait to have some yogurt or something, I am so sick of the sweet stuff and broth.

Yep, full liquids on day four.  I had my surgery in December, so maybe he changed it since then.  I was only on clears the first few days.

He gave me one packet in the office, but gave me insturctions to only do clear liquids before leaving the hospital. I am guessing I will get a new packet on Wednesday at my follow up.

Hmm, I don't know why he would have done that.  Here's hoping that you get to move on this week!

I would not really consider applesauce or yogurt a full liquid. A full liquid is usually defined by being able to get through a straw and as you might be able to if you tried hard, you might get a headache, lol! Just be careful whatever you decide to do as you stomach is still in a very sensitive and crucial point at this time!

I do agree with that.  I wouldn't eat anything as thick as yogurt or with pulp like applesauce.  I considered full liquids protein shakes, soups with no chunks, jello, etc.
